Research in the Faculty of Education is organised around Research Groups. These groups bring together Faculty staff and research students with similar interests to focus on particular areas of education research, develop projects, undertake joint activities, and share expertise.
Incorporated within these Groups are three major Research Centres. These are large, flagship research structures with their own organisation and identity, which have a high public profile and run larger-scale projects.

IIC Research Fellows are independent researchers, employed by one of the IIC's partner universities and based at the Institute. They were recruited following success in an internationally competitive process. The objective of IIC Research Fellows is to develop a personal research programme at the IIC Lab to conduct outstanding, creative and innovative research in data science and artificial intelligence, develop internationally significant outcomes, and play a prominent role in advancing the research programmes of the Institute and its partners, acting as project leaders.
